This article is part of our series Air Fryer Basics.
By now, you’ve heard about all of the wonderful fried dishes that may be prepared healthier in your air fryer, do you find yourself wondering what else you can make with it? You’ve come to the right place! When you buy an air fryer, it opens up a world of culinary possibilities. You can bake, roast, air-fry, and even grill in the convenience of your kitchen!
Baking
Yes, you can bake in your air fryer! Anything from cookies to bread and muffins to cakes! The air fryer is technically a tiny oven, after all, since it uses convection to cook food. Keep in mind that you’ll have to convert the recipe for the air fryer (see: converting recipes for my air fryer), but that won’t be difficult!
Roasting
Roasting brings out the rich flavors in whatever you’re cooking. Vegetables like carrots, sweet potatoes, and Brussels sprouts have a delicate sweetness about them after being roasted! But let’s not stop there: proteins such as fish, chicken, and steak also benefit from this type of preparation!
You Can Cook Anything
Well, almost anything! As you see, you can cook meat, vegetables, fry, and even bake in your air fryer. This appliance really opens you to a whole new world of cooking, and with its small footprint, we’ve found it great for cooking in smaller batches. In fact, we have a book on that very topic titled ‘Cooking for Two with Your Air Fryer.‘ It’s a great cookbook, but we’re a little biased! If you’re looking for quick and easy recipes perfectly portioned for two (or just you), we highly recommend it!
Now that we’ve piqued your curiosity, here are some recipes to get you started:
