Oregano

This popular herb is known for its concentrated, earthy, warm, and slightly bitter flavor profile. It is used in many cuisines around the globe, though, originally native to the Mediterranean region. Oregano even has antibacterial properties that can be used to fight off infections! Loaded with vitamins and minerals such as K, E, manganese, iron, and calcium, oregano is filled with antioxidants that can help to prevent cell damage.

As mentioned earlier, oregano is used in cuisines all around the world, most commonly Italian, Mexican, and Mediterranean cooking. So, what’s the best way to use it? Add oregano to other herbs and spices to create a dry rub for meats, infuse it into olive oil for an easy bread dip, or add it into sauces like marinara for the perfect Italian pasta. As you can see, what you can do with oregano is as vast as your tastebuds will allow.
