Slow Cooker Yogurt

Slow Cooker Yogurt

Yogurt is a classic breakfast loved by many, myself included! It used to be my go-to as a kid because it was so easy to grab and go. But who knew it was so simple to make? I kept this one plain and unsweetened, serving it with fresh fruit, granola, and a drizzle of honey to let the natural flavors take the lead here. It’s a nutritious and truly satisfying breakfast!

Yields8 Servings

Cook Time1 day

Ingredients

 8 cups whole milk
½ cup plain yogurt, with active cultures
 Fresh fruit, of choice
 Granola
 Honey, to taste

Directions

1

Pour the milk into the slow cooker and cook on low for 3 hours. Then turn off the slow cooker and let it sit untouched for 3 hours.

2

Stir in the yogurt, cover, and wrap with two towels to insulate. Let it sit for 10-12 hours or overnight.

3

Transfer the yogurt to a ½ gallon container and refrigerate it until chilled. Serve with fresh fruit, granola, and honey.

4

Note: Think that’s where this one ends? No way! To make another batch, reserve ½ cup of this yogurt and prepare the same way. The cycle never has to end!
