Beef Broccoli Stir Fry

When thinking of typical take out, beef and broccoli is one of the first things that comes to mind. With the deep savory flavors and simple ingredients, it’s hard to go wrong with such a delicious and yet traditional meal.

 ¼ cup lite soy sauce
 3 tbsp oyster sauce
 1 tbsp brown sugar
 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
 1 tsp dried ginger
 4 garlic cloves, sliced
 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
 2 cups uncooked basmati rice
 1 tbsp oil
 2 medium onions, finely diced
 1 lb sirloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
 1 head broccoli, cut into small florets
 1 tbsp cornstarch, mixed with 1 tbsp water

Directions

In a medium bowl, stir together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and rice wine vinegar; set aside. In a large pot, cook rice according to the package directions.

In a large pan over medium-high heat, add the oil and onions, cook until translucent, about 4-5 minutes, stirring continuously. Remove the onions from the pan, cover, and set aside. Add steak into the pan and cook about 4-5 minutes on each side. Add the onions back into the pan with broccoli, cooking about 3-4 minutes. Lower heat to medium, add the sauce, and cook another 3-5 minutes.

Serve beef and broccoli over rice.
