Bang Bang Shrimp Po’ Boys

Bang Bang Shrimp Po’ Boys

This famous appetizer gets served up sandwich-style! Panko-breaded shrimp are tossed into this famously spicy, yet creamy, sauce then served on a hoagie roll, topped with lettuce and tomato. I’m not lying when I say, making this into a sandwich is my favorite way to eat this shrimp!

Yields2 Servings

Cook Time12 mins

Ingredients

Sauce
 ¼ cup (56 g) mayo
2 tbsp (30 ml) sweet chili sauce
 2 tsp (10 ml) Sriracha
Ingredients
 ½ cup (54 g) panko breadcrumbs
 1 egg
8 oz (227 g) shrimp, peeled, deveined, and tails removed
 2 hoagie rolls
 2 tbsp (28 g) mayo
 Sliced tomatoes
 Shredded lettuce
 Oil spray

Directions

1

In a large bowl, stir together the mayo, chili sauce, and Sriracha. Cover and set aside in the refrigerator.

2

In a shallow bowl, add the panko. In another shallow bowl, beat the egg.

3

Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Pat the shrimp dry, then dip each shrimp into the egg, then into the panko to coat. Place the shrimp in the air fryer, spray with oil, and cook for 8-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.

4

Add the shrimp into the sauce mixture, carefully stirring until fully coated.

5

Assemble the sandwiches with mayo, tomato, lettuce, and shrimp. Serve immediately.
