These dreamy bars are divine. The smooth, gooey center melts in your mouth. This mouthwatering treat has a sweet and sour bite.
It’s a recipe that will please the senses and one to share with the loved ones. You can create enough to serve 24 with this recipe. However, to get something this good, you’ll need a little patience. Make sure you have about 50 minutes of time available, because that’s how long it will take. This isn’t some simple, easy recipe. It’s moderate, so take your time and follow each step to a tee. It will be worth it!
First you’ll need to gather the ingredients; for the crust you’ll need butter, flour, salt and powdered sugar. The filling involves a few more ingredients: eggs, lemons (or one lemon and three key limes), sugar, flour and baking powder. Start by greasing a 9×13 pan and preheat the oven at 350 degrees. The crust will need to bake first. Add the crust ingredients and mix (you may want to do this in a separate bowl). Once finished, you can use your hands for flattening the crust into the greased pan. Bake the crust for about 20 minutes. In the meantime, pull out a bowl for the filling. Put the eggs in and start whisking. You can also zest in the lemons/ limes. Mix in the rest of the filling ingredients and whisk thoroughly. When the crust is done pull it out of the oven. Add the filling to the hot crust. Place back in the oven and bake for another 20 minutes. When everything is complete, make sure to let the dessert cool. But, be sure to add your powdered sugar prior to serving.
This delicious dessert will have your friends coming back for more. It’s delightfully refreshing.
