Introducing Rolled Ice Cream

Have you heard of rolled ice cream yet? Rolled ice cream, or as it’s called in Thailand “fried ice cream” started garnering attention in the U.S. around 2016. However, this trend still has some room to grow, as not everyone is aware of it yet. If you haven’t tried this tasty trend yet, and you love ice cream, we recommend checking it out this summer.

There are several places now offering rolled ice cream. Rolled ice cream can be completely customized to your tastes, there are seemingly endless possibilities when it comes to the concoctions you can create. You choose the base you want and any additional ingredients you’d like included. The liquid ice cream and the add-ins are poured onto a anti-griddle, which is set to a negative degrees, freezing the ice cream. When the ingredients are first put on the anti-griddle, metal spatulas are used to mix and chop up the ingredients, then all of the ingredients are spread out onto the anti-griddle. At just the right time, the ice cream is then rolled up into individual rolls and placed vertically into a container. Toppings can be added to create a beautiful finished dessert. The finished product is a customized, delicious piece of editable artwork.

Rolled ice cream is a unique experience. Not only do you get to create a concoction best fit to your taste buds, but a show is included.
