If you have a waffle iron, this is a great recipe for you. It’s simple, easy, and only has a few ingredients. Plus it takes only minutes from preparation to completion. The prep time is just 5 minutes and the cook time is even less, at 2-3 minutes. The whole recipe will create four waffles.

The ingredients are easy to find and common in many households. They are yellow cornmeal, vanilla extract, all- purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, vegetable oil, milk, and eggs. The steps include mixing the ingredients together and pouring them in the waffle iron. Once they are done, you can add various toppings to complete your breakfast treat. We suggest topping these waffles with fruit and powdered sugar. Maple syrup or honey would be good choices as well.

  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups yellow cornmeal
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs


  1. Mix all the ingredients and pour 1/3 cup of batter into your waffle iron. Top it with fruit and powder sugar or pure maple syrup or honey!
