Spring 2022 Editor’s Letter

Welcome to our return issue! If you read that thinking, “Return issue?! I’ve never even heard of you before…” Let me introduce myself and this cool magazine called BestRecipes! I’m Drew Maresco, Chief Content Officer and founder of best recipes magazine. In 2014, we began as a digest-sized print magazine, loaded with seasonal recipes and articles to help you get the most out of everyday supermarket ingredients. The magazine industry as a whole has had some struggles and we were not ad-supported, making success a very difficult journey. In 2017, I decided it was time to take a step back and we shut down the magazine’s production (though it never felt it was a goodbye, just a ’see you later’ sort of thing).

From 2017 to now, I published several cookbooks (because you can’t keep me outta the kitchen) and enjoyed cooking just for the fun of it again. But I knew one day I wanted to bring back the magazine. I knew if I could bring it back, it had to be different, it had to embrace technology, and it needed to be the same experience that the printed magazine delivered (if not better). It took several years but here we are with the first issue of our return! And I promise it’s only going to get better from here!
