These are an absolute delight. The light brown sugar, butter and corn syrup blend to create a magically, light but sugary treat. The sliced almonds add a beautiful nutty flavor. There are two more ingredients to the mix, just spelt flour and salt. Follow the instructions and you’ll get a heavenly cookie to share with others.

Almond Lace cookies will take about 20 minutes to make. There are eight steps to this heavenly success. First preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Get two baking sheets out and line them with parchment paper.  Separately, you’ll need a small pot to combine butter, brown sugar and syrup. When this delicious combination is ready the butter will be melted. The texture should be smooth.

Next you’ll want to remove the small pot from the heat.  Once removed, add the flour, almonds and salt. You can then spoon the ingredients on to the baking sheets. These will bake for about seven to eight minutes.  When this step is finished, allow the cookies to cool for a little before removing from the pan.  Afterwards move the cookies to a wire rack to complete the cooling process.

These delightful bites can be served plain. You can also add a mouthwatering chocolate topping or sprinkle them with powdered sugar. Whatever presentation you choose, they’ll be delicious!

[directions title=”Directions”]

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a small pot, combine butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup over medium heat. Stir until butter is melted and mixture is smooth.
  3. Remove from heat. Stir in flour, almonds, and salt until just combined.
  4. Spoon teaspoonfuls of batter onto baking sheets, spacing 4 inches apart (the dots of batter will spread out during baking).
  5. Bake at 375 degrees until bubbling and golden brown, 7 to 8 minutes.
  6. Let sit on baking sheets until firm, about 5 minutes. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.

  8. Cookies can be served as-is, or dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with melted chocolate.
